Ansmann racing battery and charger not working

Post by d170sam »

Hello all, I have just got a brand new ansmann racing 4700 battery for my tiger 1, I also have a new ansmann pro charger, i connected the battery to the charger, then plugged it in to the mains, the red light lit up for 1 min but now just flashes red, it's been on charge all day and the light has not gone green, I plugged it in to my tank to see how much juice it had, the tank started up and ran for about a miniute then the sound stopped and tank wouldn't move, which makes me think the battery had not charged all, any ideas?

Does sound like the charger is causing the problem. Is it a simply charger with out anything to change or does it have User settings?

It's a basic charger, it has no switches, just a LED on the front, I've scoured the instruction manual that came with the charger and it says the light is red for charging and green for charged/on trickle charge, doesn't mention what flashing red means

I have a charger like that (not Ansmann) and is pretty much plug in and wait for LED to go green.

Can you try the HL or other battery, if the charger does the same again it would look like the charger. If other battery charges ok then if might be your new battery.

I know none of this fixes the problem but should help identify which part is the problem.

Ian.

Well I fixed the problem, I went to my local model shop and he tested the charger and battery and they were both fine, and I connected them together and is now charging ok, so no idea what the problem was! I now have a new problem! I tried out the tank for the first time, it drives fine, the smoker works, the turret rotates and gun elevates but the cannon won't fire, I touched the metal switch behind the gun it the flash works and it makes the cannon sound but the barrel doesn't recoil, any ideas anyone?

Nothing daft like the red switch normally in the turret is turned off. Not certain if the IR versions have them but never know.
