I would appreciate your input on Tiger I wheels and axles

Post by ranman38 »

I have 2 HL tigers one with old style swing arm screw mounts using small screw, and one with new style mounts. I also have 2 sets of metal swing arms. 1 set I tapped out to #6-32 thread trying to make my own axles, trying to get away from the press in axles I had at the time. The other is the taigen metal arms with threaded axles. I have 2 sets of metal mid/late steel wheels, one that the #6-32 bolt fits through and the other has been bored out to 4mm give or take. The fit of the wheels is sloppy in both cases. The #6-32 bolts are not shoulder bolts so they can over tighten and stop the wheel from turning, and the taigen axles leave a significant gap between the swing arm and wheel allowing it to wobble.

What I would like to see is what other users have done to modify the swing arm mounts and the wheels/axle mounting to the swing arms in words and pictures.
I am getting frustrated with my 2 tigers and their running gear issues; I have a Panther G and may get it going and leave the tigers for another time.
Thanks for any and all suggestions.
