Hi John,

comparing Armortek with this tank does not really work. Even comparing with Alex Shlakther tanks does not really work.
Are there tank models out there that are less expensive? Yep, many !
And a Heng Long Tiger with full options cost only about 100 bucks or so...way less than Armortek. Then again for 100 bucks you could get 5 1/72 diecast Tigers from Dragon models....
I do understand that our price range does attract only a limited range of people. But those really appreciate what we are building for them.
Also, I do not see our tanks popping up on the 2 hand market, they are built and not a kit, so customers do not struggle finishing them. That gives them more "playtime" actually. And that is what our customers enjoy.

I do like the Armotek tanks, too ! But building one? I do not really have the time for that....unless I get forced with money by a customer.... ;-)
Thanks

I have to say I'm disappointed with the level of detail on this model.

This is a picture of Tiger 131 from Bovington, presumably the same type as you are depicting ?

This is a photo of the rear quarter of the turret:

Just a quick comparison with the last picture of the posting above highlights a number of issues with the scale and accuracy of the parts:

There are 15 rivets in the side of the rear bin, rather than 13. The rivet heads are oversize and not accurately aligned.
The brackets on the side of the bin don't appear on the original.
The pistol port is oversize and the wrong profile. The pistol port aperture is completely the wrong shape.
The cone headed bolts are the wrong size and shape and in the wrong place around the edge of the plate.

I don't usually pick faults in other people's work, as I know my own limitations when it comes to workmanship etc :{ , but this model is on a massive scale and is being touted as the last word in accuracy and I don't happen to think it is. Most of the pictures in the last thread show basic errors in accuracy :/

Adrian.
