Airsoft on the Bulldog

Post by Bulldog01 »

Hey all, this is my first tank and everythig came through ok of from Matomart. Got the M1A3 Bulldog. The only thing that was missing in the accesory pack was the little handle for the drivers hatch. Calls for three, only got two -no biggie. I can make one. The question I have is about the airsoft gun. No matter the quality of 6mm shot I run through it, it makes the correct popping sound and the shot lands about 6 inches from the barrel. What a disapointment. Figured it would at least go 10 feet. If I load two or more shot, they all just roll out the barrel. !! Frustrating. Anyone have a fix or a mod for this? Any help would be greatly. If so some photos of the process would greatly help. Thanks, Bulldog01.
P.S - Merry Xmas all......

Sounds like something is a miss with the airsoft as should easily get longer distance than that.

As for a fix al i can suggest is remove the airsoft and check for any plastic fouling the chamber etc.

There is definitely something wrong. I wouldn't stand in front of the gun when it shoots as it is basically the same mechanism as the 6mm Airsoft guns. You should also be able to load up with BBs and not one at a time. Maybe it is not loading properly or is jammed somehow. The Airsoft is an enclosed unit by itself, once you open up the tank you could try firing with a manual loading and see if it works (i.e. Just drop a single BB into the airsoft unit and see what happens). You can always just replacing the airsoft unit but if it is new I would check back with Matomart first.

Check the barrel is clear, I have found little scrapings of plastic left over from when the inner barrel is inserted into the plastic outer before, and that affects the performance of the BB gun, once cleaned out it fires much better and goes for 25 yards as stated in the adverts.

Thanks everyone - Had the hulls apart to check all the electrical connections. Some were loose, fixed that, but good for the most part. Got rid of the smoker for now.The switch would not turn it off and didn't want to burn it up. The tank runs good after metal track instal. I just happen to notice now that the barrel and mantlet pull out of the turret as far as the wires for the shot ingditcator LED will allow!! Is this normal?? Or could this be the reason my airsoft gun doesn't shoot???

I also contacted Matomart to see what they have to say. Also, if anyone has any photos of the airsoft mech disassembled and what I can expext to see would be immensly appreciated. Who knows, maybe I can fix this darn thing myself. Thanks again everyone - Bulldog01

Good chance it is the cause of the poor shooting. For example if there is a gap between airsoft and gun tube the bb wont transfer smoothly and probably loose all its momentum.

From memory the gun tube as a aluminium tube inside it and about 10mm of it pushes into the end of the airsoft to help keep it all in line.

Thanks Tankbear - Think I found the problem -The two ears that come off of the manlet and bolt onto the airsoft/elevator unit are broken! Crap! what to do, what to do. guess thats why I coud pull the barrel out so easily

Yes sits between top of airsoft and turret roof, there is a square on the airsoft it sits in there is a cross on the turret roof for the other end of the spring. Just remember to put the little arm off back of the airsoft in the elevation unit when you put it all back together.
