Need some setup tips with Futaba and Tamiya setup

Post by aashu »

fairly new to tanks so please pardon my ignorance.

I bought an assembled Sherman and bought a 6J futaba radio. First when I hooked up my Throttle /steering was on right stick and guns on left (left forward was gun elevation and left sidwards was turret). Now I swapped it by swapping connectors coming from DMD to receiver. I also moved the ratchet to left stick.
Now the Throttle is on left and as well as steering. However, I just can't get the guns and lights to work. has anyone been using this radio and would be willing to share the settings ?

BTW - I ordered another ratchet for right stick so that both sticks stay center..

I had the same issue. I will look at what I switched as far as tamiya futaba receiver connections tomorrow.

AASHU:
I am running a Futaba radio as well and it appears the kit I purchased had the instructions for use with a two channel radio, however the DMD was set up for four. There should have been an Insert in the instructions, however I will give you the the connections for the DMD to the receiver. I am assuming you have a T05.
The order is below. -Dan
The receiver slot 1 should have the lead marked channel 4
The receiver slot 2 should have the lead marked channel 3
The receiver slot 3 should have the lead marked channel 2
The receiver slot 4 should have the lead marked channel 1

Did you adjust the end points for the guns?
If you followed the Tamiya DMD set up instructions, the end points require adjusting due to the digital trims.
You can also program the switches for channel 5 and 6 to fire the main gun on the 6J.
