hi iam tanker 242 i have three h/l tanks so far the tiger one the kvi bouth mod'd and now moding h/l panzer1v have been building moddles since airfix came in clear plastic bags

It needs connecting to the battery negative supply. Why they choose red

hi tankbear thanks for that but have tryd to connect it to battry negative wire from battry to main switch it blu rx 18 have allso tryd connecting to negative lead from on/off switch to rx 18 every thing just stoped some one says connect to drive motor neg wire do wish asiatam would suply instructions & and use black wire for neg lead

Hi Tanker 242.

I find easiest way to figure out these problems is to understand how it works so I try explain below (sorry if you know already)

The HL tanks have 3 wires which go to the turret (excluding IR versions which have extra). These three wires are
Constant positive supply (shared between either the HL recoil/Airsoft and the gun elevation unit)
Switched negative for the HL recoil/airsoft
Switch negative for the gun elevation

So as you can see you have a supply for the HL recoil/airsoft and one for the gun elevation. Using the shared positive and the switched negatives.

The Asiatam recoil has three wires.
Constant positive supply (as above)
Switched negative for the HL recoil/airsoft (as above)
Constant negative supply (the thick red one)

Now if you have wired the first two wires correctly. If you hold the left stick up on the controller it will fire and then cycle through it full recoil to return.
Now the idea of the Asiatam recoil is so when you push the left stick up for a quick press the gun fires, and then it will return by itself to the gun fully extended position. For this they have introduced the extra wire which is to be connected to the battery negative. So using this constant negative and the constant positive it will self power to the fully extended position then stop and waits for the next fire signal.

Also one other thing you need to do is, there is two small wires coming off the motors these need joining together or connected to the red switch in the turret. (joining together is better as I can't think of a reason why you want to turn off the recoil!)

hi everyone thanks for the info have connected yellow red &green to small board blue &white together & thick red to black neg from on/off switch to rx 18 now have elivation /&recoil . trouble is now every time i switch on the gun constantly recoils & wont stop till i switch off main powerr so where have i gone wrong ? brian

Hi Brian

If it is wired up correctly (sounds like it is if the elevation and fire functions are working). Then the recoil should stop when the gun is fully extended, it stops via a micro switch on the big gear which drives the mechanism. I'm guessing this has been knock and so when the gear gets to the right position it is not going open circuit and not causing it to stop.

hi ian thanks i checkt the micro switch & u were right have fixt the switch and all working normaly now thanks for the info brian to all who want to fit one of these units for first time look up this site &u cant go wrong with the addvice given first fit yellow green &red wires to pcb small sqare one then connect thick red wire to black negative wire from main on /off switch to rx 18 & all should work ok iff useing heng long flash connect as per diagram allso found on this site tanker 242
