First thing I did was to upgrade the tension system on the idler wheels
Didn't think that a small screw was enough to hold everything together ,now it's more solid .

I think that will definitely be a job to do seamusagleann. I will probably be adding quite a few metal parts, so the weight will increase quite a bit. Hope your keeping warm up in glencoe, we visit Whitebridge for holidays. You live in a fantastic part of the country, speak soon mate.

Would you believe i am still trying to split the hull on the Tiger1, told you i was a slow worker. I have removed all the retaining screws from behind the tracks including the deeply recessed ones underneath. I still cant seem to get the upper hull to part company from the lower. I can only think it is the two black hoses ontop of the hull rear as in one of my pics below. I will try and remove the secured end of the hoses when i have purchased a screwdriver small enough to remove the screws indicated by my pen.If anyone knows an easier way i would be gratefull for your advice. Hi churchill,
The two black hoses are simpler to gently pull off the aircleaner end at the rear of the Tiger. You can get a small screw-driver later on to remove the two brackets. Once the hoses are off the 'elbows' can just be swung out of the way and the hull will come apart.....BUT....Remember that there will be wires that join the two halves
There should be a thin white plastic plug that most of the wires go to. Gently pull this out of its socket and you should be able to lay the top upside down next to the hull.
Take some good digital photographs...because sooner or later a wire will probably come off and you will not know where from ....... It is probably worth getting a black indelible marker pen and putting 'rings' around or 'doted lines' along some of the red wires that go to nearby places then it will help you to identify them.

Just unplug the exhaust hose from the elbows. You don't need to take the brackets off (i.e. the small black screws). Also, the deeply recessed ones are probably the one securing the smoker etc inside and is not needed to be removed to separate the upper hull. Basically you should not need to take out any black colour screws. They should all be silver colour at a minimum. Should be either 5 or 7 of them and only from the bottom of the lower hull.

Thanks for your advice guys, i certainly couldnt manage much without your help. I have posted below a pic of an extended gun barrel i have seen on ebay, not bad at just over ten pounds. What do you think ?.
