Just a thought, why not use a smaller tube inside th emitter tube to focus the beam into a straighter line of fire? And since were talking baout this does a brass or aluminum tbue effect the beam by reflecting the light?

Just curious here guys, the Torro King Tiger is my first I/R in wow 4years now,I have the sytems, just my tanks even the Tamiyas were all converted to shoot airsoft and we even did the paintball gun system, what a waste of money into a small hull. But it was an adventure.

Anyone try different tubing type?

That is an interesting idea. I might give it a try. My main issue is that whatever I do, it is going to look "funny" if it is externally mounted. To make matters worse, the only rigid tubing I can find is either 5.5mm or 6.4mm, 5.5mm is just a little too small to go over the entire emitter, and 6.4mm is way too big (7/32" and 1/4"). I think brass and alumunum is okay since it is just reflecting inside the tube itself but obviously you would want to paint it anyway.

So far I have try rigid tubing, and funny enough, I have some spare flex exhaust black tubing from Tiger I that actually fits quite well and can be cut into whatever sharp you like.

Its just that every solution so far can't be incorporated nicely without looking silly. I am going to try pushing some of the HLs into the manlet but I know for sure Tiger I don't have enough space to push it in far enough. I am hoping the JadgPanther has enough room to push it in. For my two converted BB Matorro KT/JT, I currently have the IR hidden in one of the forward facing periscope so adding tubing is not even an option there. Maybe a fake sun shade or fake round periscope ?

YHR uses a system where the socket and wiring are in the mantlet and the tube and IR LED and tube are a seperate unit that is plugged in to the mantlet when needed.
