Torro Tiger I

Post by streetfighterjeff »

the more i look at this tank, the more i am impressed. ok, the electonics are toy like and the motors and gearboxes are enlosed in a sort of plastic one peice box. but all the tools appear to be slide mouldedand so have not bad looking clamps on. the engine decks have all the hold back clips on. hell even the mg42's barrel is hollow at the end. :D after taking it apart ready for painting, i've found that the ir emitter is on top of the loaders periscope( not fantastic), but the turret itself is moulded in clear plastic the mist painted over and the ir recievers are mounted in four places inside the turret and two in the commanders cuppola, which i think is a cool idea. really all in all not a bad little tank, and well worth upgrading as it seems that most things on it are accurate and livable with.

forgot to add, the front hatches, even though they dont open have the periscopes in, and not too badly detailed inside the hull.

Does the turret share the main sins of the HL Tiger 1? i.e. under-sized turret ring in the wrong place and gun in centre of the mantlet rather than off-set?

The turret and hull are if anything more accurate than the tamiya the only flaws in them are the lack of engine hatch And hinges on the front mudflaps. mantle and turret are spot on. the gearboxes to work really well on grass and indoors ive not had a moments problem with mine and its got an slu in so works brilliantly. In fact i like them so much i now have six of them
