ULTIMATE POWER!
Hi, does anyone know the max power the rx 18 can handle before it melts? I've got a 7.5 fuse in at the mo, but I'd like a manlier one. Cheers!

Re: ULTIMATE POWER!
Just curious, unless you're already blowing the 7.5A fuses with your setup, why do you want to add a manlier one?
I've read posts where some people have used 10A fuses, but also added fans to the RX-18 to cool them.
Maybe have a look at this older thread which discussed this topic => Increasing Rx18 power output

I've fried one, but that was driving through foot high grass when I was testing how much the fuse would take,. I'm just curious to see how far I can push the rx 18. Cheers for the link!

Re: ULTIMATE POWER!
I use 10a fuses. No problems and that is with motors rated at 5a each running!
I find the RX18 to be very robust even run a couple of tanks on 9.6v batteries for better performance. Only time managed to wreck a RX18 is when I shorted the wiring out and blew the turret turn.

Re: ULTIMATE POWER!
Aces, 10a should be more than enough. Fan cooled rx 18 in the post too, can't be too safe. Cheers tankbear!

Re: ULTIMATE POWER!
To be honest I think the fan cooled rx18 originated from early RX18 over heating. All the ones I've got are rev 7 and all I do is remove the plastic lid. I've driven the tanks hard felt the FETs and not even hot.LongGoneJohn wrote:Aces, 10a should be more than enough. Fan cooled rx 18 in the post too, can't be too safe. Cheers tankbear!
I suppose the fan is extra safe.
