Analog sound module and A.T.R. for RX-18, RX-14, taigen 2.4

Post by strmnd54 »

Nothing fancy; nothing to compete with more expensive digital sound modules out there.
It’s just a Voltage Controlled Oscillator ( V.C.O.) , triggered by the sound of the RX-18 and remixed with it to “ beef up” the overall sound…

The A.T.R. is made from a customized cannon sound file recorded on a low cost 10 sec. digital recording module that I bought on e-bay ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 9145696012)…
I tapped into the main gun recoil signal; thus avoiding the cannon sound and the track recoil of the RX-18 …

I put everything in my Pershing and took it for a drive in the park…

Hi strmnd54,
Very nice effect indeed !!...The Pershing drives very well...Please can I ask the specs of the tank but more importantly for a step by step 'idiots guide' to fitting this little unit into the tank ?
I have looked at the Ebay link and the item is now removed....so a detailed explanation and a link to a current sound module would be very helpful ! To be able to get a proper gun and to kill the track jerk recoil in 1 steps would be brilliant

Hi Dietrich,

Found the modules under completed items, search eBay for "ISD1820 Voice Board Sound Recording on-board Microphone Playback Module", all we need now is, as you say, a step by step idiot's guide (with pics!) to fitting it, and I can't believe the price! :D

I'm afraid that the mod. I used to operate the sound card is a bit complicated ; since I'm taking the power and the trigger from the sound module I designed...

If you are planning to upgrade to 2.4 GHZ and do I.R. battle compatible with Tamyia in a near future ; check this site :http://battlearmorrc.weebly.com/.

Dan's prices are hard to beat and He is also using a sound card forthe cannon sound...

However ; if you want to use the ISD1820 with the 27 MHZ H.L. system ; here's the wiring that I propose :

I've just got my DBC3 and budget sound card from Dan  really easy to set up. Unfortinatley the sound files became corrupt in transit but with Dan's assistance managed to reload sound files and even added some extra sounds to it like a commander shouting and a decent sounding machine gun.

Was planning to do some video shots this weekend so will upload them.
