Anderson Power pole connectors

Post by mikeh »

I was a huge Deans plug follower but have converted to Power Pole connectors for the ease of soldering, the low cost, and the ability to wire them together in paralell or in series without complicated adaptors.

Also, I grew to hate having to buy separate male and female versions of the deans plug. Seemed I always ran out of the one I needed at the worst time. No such problem with PPs since they are all interchangeable.

Heres where I'd get deans plugs in bulk anyway.

Whichever you prefer, changing the stock connector is a must in my opinion.

I am not sure if they ship internationally, but I would thing so. Either way, there aught to be a source for them in the UK. I just did an internet search to find those sites.

I knew of the Power Poles from my other RC interests. The advantage is that they are interchangable, can be crimped on as well as soldered, are sold in pairs, easy to solder, and have low loss of current.

But I am told that the Deans plugs have the lowest possible loss, lower than the PPs. I cannot tell the difference in performance and use both. I am gradually changing over to PPs as I buy new batteries, ESCs etc. In the meantime I made several deans to PPs convertion plugs.

thanks for that mikeh, i'll look into it to see if i can find them here, and email the guys in the links you put up, i got to say they do look like they are really compact, not as bulky as deans con's, which is usefull if space is tight

Hi all, I used to use Power Poles years ago when I raced RC cars.

I much preferred them to Deans.
They are same quality as Deans but neater and easier to use.
The only down side maybe limited availability.

I have just bought a set to use with my HL panther G.

Cheers
