since the tamiya sherman 105 howitzer doesnt come with a remote controll will a basic heng long controller work, also what are you suppose to do about charging the sherman since it doesnt come with a charger.

No, HL controler won't work.
You need to buy a Radio and receiver as well as a battery charger.

My sherman was purchaced on ebay and had no electronics in it. Someone had fitted HL motor and gearboxes. I just hooked up everything to an rx 18 mfu and its wiring harnesses and it runs great. Had to do a little work getting gun elevation unit in the turret ( this is the elevation unit that has no airsoft or recoil) and since it was the earliest tamaya that only had driving the tracks I also had to fit a HL turret turning gear ring and and the HL gearbox for it. It was a lot less expensive than getting full option tamaya mfu just took a little time to fit the HL parts.
