Aber A/T Ammo with box

Post by Leo 2A6 »

Hi All

I got myself a couple of these Aber A/T Ammo and box kits and they are great however fitting the precussion cap to the shell casing is proving a bit difficult, I tried super glue/CA first which didn't take even after scuffing both surfaces first, then tried solder which didn't work either as I couldn't
get the required heat into the shell casing to get a bond any advice is greatly appreciated.I forgot to mention that they are both brass.

Thanks for any help in advance.

Hi Leo 2A6, I find butane and silver solder to be easy and strong, don't know if you can braze it though. Cheers Russell

Thanks Battlechip, my only concern is excessive heat and distortion, I did try with a butane soldering torch the solder took to the cap but not the
casing
