Help with a bulldog

Post by Nevins »

Where to start, bought it off ebay listed as broken barrel. On delivery I open it to find that that aint the case. The barrel has snapped, but and this is a big but, its been stripped down, screws all missing, various wires cut, various detail snapped or missing, idler wheels snapped off the list goes on. I cant even test to see if it runs. Its a henglong, and was just wondering if they all came with smokers as this does not have it inside.

It was paid for via paypal so i have opened a dispute but do not hold much hope for a refund as if they would send something out like that they do not care. Now im happy to rebuild it but its going to cost quite a bit from what i can read up on.

What i find odd is that the model is brown yet the replacement turrets yes they sent 2 are green. Are there updated versions?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Gareth.

Gareth,

You got boned dude! Sorry, I cannot help you out with the different components of the Bulldog as I don't own one but someone on the site will jump in and give you some info. This E-Bayer, is it company or an individual stool sample screwing you. Sorry for the language, Army.

When you decide to fix her up and/or modify it, give Steve at Welsh Dragon Models a go, he is by far the best out there. I deal with him all the time.

Well buddy, once again sorry you got screwed and good luck with the Paypal dispute. Later...

If you paid via Paypal, did you use a creditcard? In that case it might be possible to claim a refund via the CC company.....I know this is a lot of trouble, but hey, what ya gotta loose?

Hope this turns out well, John.

If you paid by paypal then ebay can refund your money so don't worry on that score, it sounds like you have a good case i.e item not as described, I always use paypal now and have had a couple of refunds, ebay does it automatically if they find in your favour.
As for the bulldog the old models (Tk01 board) were non smoke and sound so it may be one of those.
I have some spare bulldog bits as I am modding a couple so if you can post pictures and lists of whats missing I'll see if I have any bits you need.

Thanks for the replies, it was paid through paypal but my big mistake is that they sent me a invoice through email to pay, being late at night and half asleep my head didn't pick up on a scammer. They removed the add off ebay straight away so didn't think anything of it.
Stupid I know but oh well. After the red mist lifted and I got a calm head i decided to look at it a bit more. So from my findings this is the list of whats to do.

A new hull is needed due to idlers snapping off at the bases.
Managed to make one good turret from 3, so thats not to bad.
Need to replace barrel as airsoft system is destroyed but tacked back in place for now.
Detailing can be repaired and sourced so not to concerned now.
The wiring inside is annoying more than anything, its the old soldered board in side it and what a shocking job that is. Did a trained chimp make these boards?

So what is my plan, simple seeing as i am not wanting to glue the hell out of the hull, i will source a new complete hull and start swapping stuff over. My main question is if its worth upgrading it all to the rx18 module thus allowing more functions to be fitted.

So been playing again, jerry rigged the wires, and managed to get the right hand track to function but the left would only run forward. So after a few more tests got them working as they should, but now they have failed altogether even turret function has failed now. So I'm guessing the board is dead as it looks like some one has tried playing about before. Are the early boards still available to buy?

If you are going to do a rebuild it is worth upgrading to the RX18, to get smoke and sound and future IR upgrade if you prefer.
Having said that I have spare TK01 boards if you really want one - I have taken them out to do the RX18 upgrade myself.

Hi don't touch the tank you will have to send it back to the person you bought it from the same way you got it if the add didn't say sold as spare or repair or sold as seen you should get a refund it would cost too much to do up buying spare parts don't throw money at it good luck let us know how you got on.
