I was just looking over some of the older show off posts and you asked about mantle cover material. Im in the USA so I dont know if this is available in the UK but I use a very thin lighteight material that is used to make cheap rifle covers that are used here when you buy a rifle at an auction or gun show. If you look at my posts of my pershing and my M16 quad halftrack or bulldog all the "canvas" is made out of this material. It glues well and takes paint nicely and is very flexable.
