hello again,

more on the upper hull modification in order to correct the turret's turn axle:

mark and cut (the axle is about 15mm too forward):

Image

turn 180º:

Image

you have to reinforce the hull from the inside, i'm using 1.5mm aluminium (not glued yet, have to do some holes)

Image

also, is mandatory correct and center the hole on the turret base:

my tank is an airsoft one, so the 'bulb' of the canon's gear is more prominent, and some sanding is needed on the rings:

more to follow soon

something is happening with the images linked, for some reason they appear too big, when i've uploaded to imageshack in 640x480 format, as usual...

if i click right button over the pic and open it in another tab, then it's shown correctly... :wtf:

hello again,

i did some more advances in the past days:

new supports for the tower's turn engine, made with M2x20 screws

Image

new wiring layout for the upper hull:

Image

Image

internal and external views of the turret's bottom:

Image

Image

corrected the bottom of the turret under the storage bin, filled the 'step'

Image

corrected the Rommelksite, in the HL Tigers they form a 90º degree angle with the turret, but was not the case:

from under, before apllying milliput putty

Image

on the right side, the Tiki's bin was cut in order not to interfere with the scape hatch opening process, view before applying milliput

Image

As far as i know, they were two main forms to attach the bin to the turret, 'hanging' it from the upperside, or with lateral supports, like Tiki had, so i 'dremelized' the upper molded supports on the HL bin.

After putty and with supports added:

Image

left side:

Image

consequently, after 'widening' the Rommelkiste, i had to do new lids. I was not able to do the openings workable, because the gun's elevation engine is located inside the bin. So with the iron plate of a olive's can (not aluminium), i cut the lids and false hinges:

it's all for today!

Meant to ask, how are you finding the new sound module?
I have installed the USM RC2 in my half built merkava 3d but haven't done much with the programming of it as yet.

hello jdflute,

i love the beier sound module, it needs a lot of work to configure sounds if you want, or you can use some premade profile, like the ones that are on the CD.

i first had to search for original sounds, then cut them to size, and using the soft configure all the parameters, a bit time consuming if you want ;-) but it's something that i loved about this card, in this way you can be almost sure that your tank is 'unique'
