sherman tank tracks

are the m26 pershing tracks the same size as the m4a3e8 sherman bacause i wanted to buy a pershing with metal upgrades to take off the tracks and drive wheels to build a scratch built m4a3e8 because the tamiya one is way to expensive. also any links you can give me to help me build this will be appreciated. thanks
