Depends what you are after. Unless you really what to start changing bits (which can become an expensive addition!) I would say leave it and see how you go and change bits if when they break.

Only item I found needing changing quite quickly after using my Tigers was the rear idle wheels. The plastic wheels just come loose and the slop allows the tracks to come off during turns. I bought a metal set from Welsh Dragon Models but these have a 4mm shaft (HL is 5mm) so I used long (50mm) M4 bolts which went deep into the hull. Job done.

Thanks Ian, that sounds a good place to start. Do they need a fan put in them at all? It seems to have metal supports on either side inside along where the axles are, so i guess the support bars on sale aren't needed either. Ive been thinking of putting a recoiling gun in, but perhaps I'll wait till i've had a bit of fun with it, before i start tinkering.

Nah i wouldn't bother with the fan. I did that when I first got into the hobby as everyone else did but find the RX18 is quite robust and doesn't need it. If your worried can always remove the top half of the plastic case.

Never had issue with the road wheels & suspension just the idle wheels.

Like you say just go use it know and see how you get on.
