Greetings

Post by SovereignZuul »

Hi, great forum I've been browsing quite a bit.

New to the RC tank hobby but been model building most of my life. I'm 28, living Connecticut, USA. Wonder if there are any clubs near me.

I bought a base model KV-1 for my girlfriend, and a PZIV for myself, airsoft models. We both love the game World of Tanks. I quickly discovered there was a real hobby to this beyond just the toys. Shortly after learning about the real rc tank hobby, and mainly wanting to push things more in that direction I purchased a Tiger I with metal tracks, gears and drive components and an Asiatam/Taigen metal hull for it as well as some gear reductions. I plan on may more major upgrades most especially an IR battle system. I'll be performing and documenting a full tear down, and remodeling of my Tiger.

I really want to do a correction on the Tiger turret so it spins center and I can use a turret ring. I have not seen much info on that mod so I'll probably make measurements myself.

Thanks for the great forums, see you around here all.

Welcome to the forum dude, I'm sure you'll find some info around here or someone will come to you aid. I myself am in the middle of improving my HL Tiger 1 and got pretty much the same kit that your using. Looking forward to seeing your WiP. Have fun with the build.

The closest club I know of to you would be N.E.A.D., based in North Jersey/New York.
I don't know how far that is for you, but I'm in south Jersey and drive 135 miles north for the battledays.
Welcome aboard!
