HL RX-18 tank control order

Post by rock »

Hello all,

I am coming back for a electronic question regarding to HL Rx-18.

The problem is when tank turns left, the left track should keep still and the right side moves forwards. When thank turns right, the right track should stay and left side track moves forwards. However, all my tanks which have rx-18, even 2.4 GHz controller have a problem of turning right. When tank turns right, left side track keeps still and right side moves backwards which is really annoying but turning left is okay.

Turning left is correct.

Turning right is wrong.

Dose anyone know or meet this problem before? Or it is the problem of which all HL tanks have? I appreciate any suggestions and help.

That's a strange problm for sure, all the 2.4 ghz tanks react the same way? Normally driving forward or reverse their is not issues correct?

And it is almost impossible to reverse a motor connector due to the type of socket,so this seems to be the programming.

Might try asking Kevin of RC TANKS AUSTRALIA,very smart guys when it comes to control mfu systems. He might be aware of this issue and have some practicle advise.

Hi Saxondog,

Thank you. I got two rx-18 and one 2.4 GHz controller. They all work like this way. Some of them have an issue of going left and some have right issue. Forwards and backwards are no problem at all. This is really annoying problem. I have contaceted him and see what hi says.

Hi Rock

Are the electronics in a WSM of Torro tank or have the changed the gearboxes or motors recently?

Hi Ian,

Two RX-18 are in WSN tiger 1 and t-34 and one 2.4GHz Hl receiver is in HL panther G. I didn't change their original gearboxes. If tank is turning fast, no problem at all as two tracks are moving to different directions and however, this problem happened when tank is slowly turning.

any thought? Thank you.

Rock.

I've been told when converting the wsn tanks you need to flip one of the motor wires over as it is wired differently to the HL although have same plugs.

But rereading you say drive straight so guess you've already done that. Have you tried adjusting the steering trim?

Hi Ian,

I did tried couple of times on my WSN Tiger, WSN T-34 and HL panther and the problem still exits. Even HL panther G. I didnt change anything and it was bought just couple days ago. I was think it might be the gearbox which has different resistance on two side and therefore RX-18 cannot drive it when it is moving slowly. Anyway, its just a guessing.

Is it any different on different surface like patio to grass.

If it is exaggerated on grass then maybe it is a gearbox resistance issue.

The problem always exits no matter which I am playing on. Even I take it from the ground and the right turnning is still straight.

Hi
You can press the barb down inside the plug
With one of the very small screwdrivers
And swap them over
You have to lift the barb up before you put it back in the plug
You put the screwdriver in the long slots on the sides
Not in the ends
