Gearbox and turret problems.

Hi everyone,

I am new to the heng long world and have just been given a S&S hl tiger 1, metal tracks, sprocket and gearboxes, i am impressed with it, good value and looking forwards to modding it and improving it, this looks like it is going to happen sooner rather than later! I have two problems, firstly the turret rotation has stopped and also the tank is juddering and not turning left properly.

I have opened the tank up and had a look, the metal gearbox on the left has the teeth for the drive sprocket stripped, so problem found there. The turret motor is not turning at all, I have even removed it from the turret ring to rule out the possibility of the turret jamming and stopping the movement, however it looks like the motor is kaput.

Two questions here then, what gearbox am I best replacing the metal ones with, secondly the turret, am I best just buying a replacement motor unit, if they are available, or should I check something else first before parting with my hard earned cash.

I've tried all brass ones and wasn't impressed and the previous Asiatam steel ones and very noisy and underpowered motors.

As for the turret motor just try connecting directly to the battery (just make sure the hul lid isn't still plugged into the electronics) this will confirm if it a motor or electronics problem.
