Done some more work today.
Got myself a set of black metal (normal ratio) gearboxes.
Problem is the long shaft boxes don't come in low profile version. So the gearbox on the left needed the side plate switching to a low profile one so the motor sits lower, all the gears rejigging and the gear on the drive shaft flipping round and sitting at other end.
Next job fit some shaft bearings.
Enlarged hole in the hull side wall and push in.
Tracks back on and no more sag in the tracks.
Took it for a spin and a lot quieter.
Also fitted one of those super fast motors to the elevation unit. Wow now super fast possibly unrealistic now but the thing is so noisey
