DMD T05 MF 03 Units Need help.

Post by X82d Pathfinder »

I am working on the thread here which is a DMD T 05 and I purchased the MF 03 unit from a Pershing for the recoil function. The DMD T05 works as it should, and the motors run accordingly until I plug the units together. Everything works except the motors. The engine RPM sound comes up and down with the throttle, the machine gun fires, the elevation and transverse works, the lights work. Just no electric motor operation. I dropped Ric a PM being he has used the combination. Any help would be appreciated.

Kindest Regards,
-Dan

Ruben:
I appreciate your help. It seems to be all green. When I plug the DMD into the MF I get the engine and the throttle increase but I the motors no longer run. If I unplug the DMD from the MF unit the DMD works. I thought it was perhaps because of the Sherman DMD being used with the Pershing MF unit. However, it seems others have used the combination here with no issues. I know someone has the answer!

I will just rev the engine till you have to release the idle mode.
Slide the trim all the way down and blip the stick down and then return the trim to middle and your ready to drive.
The Pershing and the KV-1 both operate this way.

Since I'm (very) new in this hobby, I'm probably thinking the complete wrong way, but can it be that it's got something to do with a two or four channel receiver/transmitter.....If I'm saying something stupid, don't shoot me for it...LOL.

John:
It has something to do with the way it engages the "transmission". I thought it was an issue with DMD MFU compatability being I am using the Pershing MFU so I have recoil. I will continue to tinker or beat up Tamiya Monday. lol You're not stupid. The wealth of information here helps walk newbies like you and I through. I'm generally a static model builder when it comes to armor, however I found a club in San Antonio Texas where I can go and battle. Being the spousal unit works for American Airlines I intend to come to the UK and battle at a club meet there at some juncture.

Just a heads up on this issue.
After working this issue with the kind imput of the community, I went back and walked through the DMD initial set up. I set the end points for the gimbals and tried the suggestion here. The lowering of the throttle trim lever and pulling the stick down and quickly back to neutral. Then centering the trim tab takes it out of neutral. It worked once the end points were set. I also noted in this process that Futaba's radio was different than Tamiya's connection suggestion. Anyway, issue resolved. Thank those that responded.
