P E Brass bits Help please

Hi , Help needed please I have a problem sticking P E parts on to 1/35 models could someone Please tell this old fool how to do it the smaller the part the more I mess up , I have been using superglue. Thanks a lot Pete

Hey Pete.

I was a PE junkie with 1/35 kits for years. I even had a resistance solderer just for PE, making those ridiculous 4 piece Voyager clamps workable.

The best way I've found to glue them on is with either an acrylic binder or epoxy putty. The binder is what they use to make acrylic art paints, it's the paint without the pigment. Very sticky, excess can be washed off with a wet brush, it gives you time to set it properly and has much greater shear strength than CA (superglue). You can find it where art supplies are sold, it'll be with the paints. The best I've found is called Bindex by a French company, Pebeo. You may have that on your side of the pond.

The epoxy putty is strong and can be shaped to look like welds:

Thanks for the info I am look at a Sherman m4a3 by Tamiya in 1/35 as a planning model for the HL sherman if it ever goes on sale ! Thanks again Pete.
