Good evenig people
I saw this link for new people to make themselves known, so here i am.
I've always been interested in tanks, of all countries and era's, and have wanted to get into rc tanks for a long time, and have decided that this is my time to do so!
Mainly looking for advise on how to start, as i have done research on the hobby, but some of it is confusing, so i'm gonna need so,e help with certain aspects

Hey Craig,

Welcome to the forum, lots of knowledge here so ask away. I think most people here start with the less expensive Heng Long Tanks, they carry a wide selection and less labour intensive(until they break down). That is how I began, bought a HL Tiger 1 but saw lots of accuracy errors, broke it down for modification but left for Afghanistan for 8 months. Got home and couldn't remember how to re-assemble the beast. Put her aside and bought the Tamiya Leopard 2A6. Now I have started the super mods process on my Tiger 1. So in closing, I would suggest a Ready to Run Heng Long and if the RC bug bites you progress up to the Tamiya. Hope this helps dude. The guys here will steer you in the right direction. Have fun.

You will be able to get loads of help and advice on here. I agree that buying a Heng Long is a good first choice to decide whether you are going to like the hobby or not . If you decide that you DO like it then.........This is just my opinion But I think that Tamiya is over priced, so I would look at an Asiatam Metal Hull and add upgrades from there of Metal Tracks ,Metal Sprockets etc. This way you will be able to have 2 or 3 tanks for the price of one Tamiya . Some people love the fact that you have to FULLY assemble the Tamiya from a load of parts sprues, but again speaking personally I just do not have the patience to attempt to construct the thing from all those hundreds of parts.( I am too old and forgetful....... )

Anyone on here scratch build any of there armour? Been reading alot about that as well, and i know its very labourious and time consuming (not to mention complex lol)
that side of things really appeals to me.
I know from experience there's nothing like taking literally nothing and turning it into something awesome lol.
