Re: Taigen Tigers
I looked into elmod stuff, but the price put me off abit. I'm not a huge fan of the standard sounds so on one of my tigers I turned the speaker volume right down so you can't hear it. I'm really only interest in the better speed control so this looks perfect. I might go the elmod route one day, but as I'm new to the hobby I'm trying to keep costs down and I'm not that confident working on the tanks internally yet.

Re: Taigen Tigers
The inside looks a bit scary in the beginning with all the wires etc, but once take a good look at how everything is connected etc it's really not that complicated.. Replacing the RX18 with this new board will be very easy as all the connecters that go into the RX18 go into the new board the same way (no soldering etc required).. Replace the speaker, remove the redundant 27Mhz receiverboard and you are done.. Cannot get any easier..
Elmod is a bit expensive, that's correct.. And you'll need a bit more knowledge how to install it.. As far as costs go, you'll need a Thinktank module for controls that's +/- 100 euro's, then you'll need a Blastermodule for the sound for another +/- 100 euro's.. Then you'll need a PC configurator cable and SD-card reader for +/- 40 euro's so you can tweak the controls and sound on your PC, and then you need a 2.4Ghz remote+receiver aswell that gonna cost arround 100 euro's again.. Add a better speaker to that for +/- 20 euro.. Total cost 350-400 euro.. But as far as controls and sound etc it's the best you can get for your RC tank, even better then what Tamiya offers in their (also expensive) full option kits.. This Taigen 2.4Ghz upgradepack is a lot cheaper for sure..
