Hi One thing we need to know is the battle system is it Tamiya compatable,if not we have a problem ,The DBC for sure wont work with it because you cant intercept the signal from the reciever, not sure if the Mako board will work.we will have to wait and see, sorry to pour scorn on good news .But we do need to find out soon.

Thanks for pointing out the detail on the smaller Welshdragon pictures - despite having none in stock he has the most informative pictures of the unit comapred to Torro and Asiatam!
That answers most of my questions and as I don't IR battle, I don't care about Tamiya compatibility. It looks pretty neat. I'll be getting one in the near future, I'm sure, just to see how good/bad or indifferent they are!

if its not tamiya battle ready, its going to be a step backward imo......that would most likly mean that the dbu would not be an option anymore....then you are stuck with the slu or the elmod.

@madmonk25, RX18 is the main electronics in Heng Long tanks, which controls all functions of the tank (motors, turret, sound and smoke).. So if you have a recent Heng Long tank it comes with the RX18 installed as standard..
This new 2.4Ghz electronics replaces the RX18 if you want to upgrade to it.. Installation is very easy as all the connections are still the same.. Main difference between this new one and the RX18 is that this new board has a 2.4Ghz receiver built-in and the RX18 uses a seperate 27Mhz receiverboard.. The new board also offers more speedsteps for better proportional drive and it comes with a better speaker (3W v 0.5W)..

Re: Torro 2.4GHz radio to replace HL RX18
I know the feeling.. I have a Torro King Tiger Metal Edition as 1st RC tank (pretty exepensive) and also already had a few issues with it.. It forces you to learn more about the whole RC thing.. Which I think is a good thing as you'll learn that any problem is fixable and there a lot more to it then you think.. I especially like the many upgrades available for RC tanks.. As a result my Torro is not stock anymore aswell, I did many upgrades and impovements on it (mainly on the inside, steel gearbox, soundmodule, better speaker, proportional smoke etc)..
About getting this upgrade.. It's upto you offcourse, but if you buy this 2.4Ghz package you will replace the RX18 in your Taigen and you'll know for sure if that was the problem.. If you ask me, if you can and want to spend another 95 euro (dunno the price in pounds) on your tank I would go for it for sure.. Your tank will only get better.. Better ride, better sound, much better remote, and as extra you'll have more space in your tank aswell as you can remove the seperate 27Mhz receiverboard that's inthere right now aswell..
You can also wait offcourse for some reviews and experiences of people who bought and used this upgrade if you want to have some more info first.. But to me it looks like a very good upgrade if you still have a stock Heng Long tank and do not want to spend a lot more on a complete Elmod (or SGS and Beier) electronics upgrade..

50/50 if the tank won't start or anything but turns on check the radio batteries, then check the reciever board is plugged into the RX18 and the plug has seated well. Then check the antenae wire is actaully soldered on well. If it still don't work the RX18 is probly bad. hope that helps you
