Torro King Tiger-In progress.

Post by Shane Wolfe »

My first photos, adding little bits as I go along. Borrowing a friend's airbrush so I can add some red-brown to the yellow and green paintwork, so just hid most of the tank with a cam-net so far! My next step is to add tank crew and accessories.

Thanks Ken, a long way to go yet, but I am enjoying it all so far. Need to get some bits off of forum members too.

Looks very nice.. I ordered this tank aswell, probably arriving tomorrow..

Just a tip, I see you still use the standard (toy) antenna.. Maybe you want to look at changing that to a much nicer looking proper Tiger antenna like this: http://www.welshdragonmodels.co.uk/tank ... 1579-p.asp

Thanks, I know they'll never be as accurate as the Tamiya 1/16 figures but as foreground "clutter" they do okay! Got some tank crew figures on order and a few more bits and pieces to add to the KT.

Why does the HL electronics (RX18) put you off?

You could always replace it with Elmod.. But that adds nicely to the costs as I understand you'll need another remotecontroller with that aswell.. Personally I'm gonna see how this tank runs with RX18 and upgraded steel 4:1 gearbox I have in it first, if I don't like it I can always switch to Elmod later.. I also have a Beier soundmodule in it with Visaton speaker and proportional smokemodule..
