Tank Control (elmod)

Post by SteveDorics »

Hey Guys,

Quick question, might sound stupid but here it goes.....

I currently have a asiatam/henglong Tiger 1 and when I am driving the tank and moving (forward/backwards) I move the stick to steer left or right which it does correctly but when I am stopped and want to spin/turn on the spot, I move the stick too the left but it turns right.....

Is there a way around this or is it the characteristics of driving a tank..? I have the elmod eco board....

I have read the Tamiya Tiger 1 manual and they are setup how i would like it

Hi Steve,

Welcome to the forum  I'm not certain about your problem but have you tried PM Ex Pat Tanker as I think he's had a few Elmod tanks.

Sounds like you've got your motor wires crossed.

ie. when you're moving forward and you push your stick into the top right then the tank should turn left as the controller is putting more power into the right track.

That does sound strange, if you move the stick up and to the right and it turns right (more power to the left track) and the same to the left then it should do the same when in spin mode, i.e. left track forwards right track backwards with the stick to the right and visa versa.

I have a new elmod that will not respond to turning trim. If you push it to full trim left or right the motors will not start.

I'm pretty sure the trims need to be centered for startup.

It was centered for start up, but when you put the turn in first then
thottle up it was no start. The engine started fine, just the tracks did
not move. Take the turn out and the tracks started fine.

I got tired of talking to elmod, they kept asking me to check the tracks for binds. I told them the only time it will not move is when the trim lever is
not centered. I sent it back!
