It sucks A hundred years ago we were the richest nation in the world with navy and army that was the envy of the world ! now what Cuts Cuts Cuts we make nothing any more all given away so some _anker can get rich quick and sod everyone else. Sorry but it makes me sick.
It is not the pace of life that worrys me, its the sudden stop at the end.

Someone should talk to them about making 1:16 and 1:8 size tanks.

You're right huntpe1, we used be the envy of the world. Now we are a joke.

Well tanks last longer these days and the world relys on planes more.

A sign of the times. When we were young we built Airfix kits made in UK, now we build the products of China and Japan. No different in 1:1 scale.
By the way, there are still other UK tank factories and facilities still going (I work at one) - its not like Vickers were the only one.

They say that BAE needed to stay competitive. How much money did BAE make last year?
It's too bad that a return on investment needs to be above a reasonable figure. Canada face the same issues.
I say cancel the orders from china and bring the jobs back.
The jobs were moved there in the first place just because a billion in profit isn't enough.

That link brought back a few memories, i remember picking up tanks there many moons ago, could'nt load them in the factory it was surrounded by low bridges so had to send one transporter out at a time through the streets followed by the tank until we cleared the bridges then load it and one at a time over the tyne bridge
regards afv.
