'Wheels of Terror' AKA 'Die Galgenvogel'

Having read Sven Hassell books in my youth I was pleased to find that a movie had been made of one of his books 'Wheels of Terror'. I ordered it from play . com and it took about a fortnight to get here which is unusual as goods generally arrive quickly.
So on Friday night with the surround sound on and mucho beer I was looking forward to watching this epic with my dog Otto Barkmann (mini Schnauzer). It was crap!! no wonder it never went on general release in UK. Apart from a T72 with a Balkan Cross on the Glacis plate ( Supposed to be a Tiger) the characters were unconvincing, plot was rubbish and in general a complete waste of time.
So one to avoid tank fans

Have you seen Cross of Iron? A brilliant film set on the Russian Front with some great action scenes. I love the Sven Hassel books, as you do too you might like The Forgotten Soldier, by Guy Sajer.

Yes 'Cross of Iron' is one of the best films of WWII and I have seen that many times, Dragon have even made a 1/16 scale figure of Steiner and I have one in my collection. 'The Forgotten Soldier' is a great book to but I doubt it would ever be made into a film.

Unfortunately most films of the 60's and 70's just painted symbols on whatever tanks they could get, so from an authentic view doesn't help us much, no matter how good (or bad!) the movie. One good thing about CGI or modern films/series means we get to see better armour appearing.
