Tiger1 smoke units

Post by amoruso44 »

Hi . Looking for some advice on installing smoke unit to HL Tiger1. Is it better to fit proportional or non? Tank will only be used indoors so only for effect/display. Does proportional unit only smoke when moving, and are both as noisy? Cheers guys.

Both are as noisy as each each other as basically same design.

The standard one runs at constant speed when ever tank is turned on, the proportional runs slow when tank on i.e. like idling engine then speeds up when driving.

The standard one is a simply plug in job the proportional is plug but then need to connect some extra wires to the motor wires so some soldering involved.

To me the proportional sounds fine, but in pratice as the tank is moving the smoke effect is diluted anyway with the movement so not really worth it. But that is my view, others may say otherwise.

Hi Ian!
May I ask you gently to explain me how to link a proportional unit to the motors??
I thought it was only necessary to plug it in the rx-18.
I will really appreciate.

Hi you plug into the RX18 like normal then there is two or four more wires which you need to connect to the main drive motors.
