just run a tester on it and yes... 4.5 v feed from ir port, 5 from left + 3rd from left -
that will do just dandy

This may be of use,another topic but the RX18 UNIT cooling was the result. Also elevating the RX18 to allow better air flow has proven to be most effective.

I used a 5 volt laptop fan from Maplins for my RX18, I havn't bothered with any voltage regulation and it has worked fine for almost a year.
As Saxondog suggests I also raised the RX18 and while I had the case off to instal the fan I drilled a few small holes in the base of the RX casing to assist airflow through the unit. Hope this helps.
