please help

Post by tanked up »

Hi tankers, i have bought my first tamiya model the panther g to bring along to my first tank meet at hyde, i have a spektrum dx7 i want to use with it along with a orange receiver to go in it, the problem is im a complete novice with tanks and the tank did not come with any instructions, can anybody please tell me which channel goes into which socket on the receiver (ie rudd aux etc), i have been trying different combinations but i cant get the tank to turn right or left at all, i have it moving forwards and in reverse complete with sound on the right stick which is the way i would like it (tanks movements on the right stick and main gun controlls on the left stick)but its all mixed up, when i turn the right stick which should make the tank itself turn left or right it doesnt and instead the main gun moves left and right and in the correct dirrection to my stick movement, when i turn the left stick left it makes the main gun barrel move up and if i turn the left sick to the right it makes the barrel move down and if i do it quickly it will fire the main gun, im very confused guys as im sure you are after reading this hahaha,i have not even had the machine gun firing yet either, anyway if one of you kind chaps could point me in the right direction it will be greatly appreciated, and many thanks in advance, gary.

Hi Gary may I start with! The tamiya panther is a great tank!! Now I have 2x tamiya Shermans and a what was a henglong tiger but is more tamiya than henglong now with full tamiya electrics in it! I too dident have any instructions and found if you pul one of the plugs out and see what stops working was the best way to sort it out! But I've got a tamiya Sherman instructions here and here's what the set up is Rudder- ch1 Throttle ch2 MGun ch3 turret ch4 hope that help you and if you realy struggling you could bring it to mine and I'd be happy to set it up for you as I don't want you nocking everything other at the Hyde meet lol! You probably have an idea the annoyance i went through after I pulled mine apart and forgot what channel goes where! Funnily enough I have a tamiya panther g with the orange rx. The channels are as follows:

throttle: channel 3
Aile: channel 1
Elev: Channel 2
Rudd: channel 4

To get the mg and the main gun to fire without altering the trims you have to calibrate the dmd so as you dont use the full range on the left stick up and down motion (about 75% should work but it took a few attempts to get it working properly). If you need anything else dont hesitate to pm me. Look forward to seeing you at Hyde, will be good to have another panther to go up against the sherman horde!

That seem the rite order and that was the order my sherman was set up as when I got it! But in that order you get forwards backwards a L&R on the rite stick and the rest on the left! Which is rite ! But I have it set up so forwards and backwards and L&R and on the left stick! So again a different combination is used! I will be changing again so I have forwards and backwards on the left stick and left and rite on the rite stick so again a different combinatio is used!

The thing is the orange tx doesn't have channel 1,2,3 etc they're labeled as Rudd aile thro etc which makes getting the right one some what of a pain!
