Ebay HL broken down parts
Where are all the broken down HL tanks coming from on E-bay, seems to always been 'alot' of HL tanks broken down for parts? any ideas....just curious as not sure if its rip off or what ever?
Re: Ebay HL broken down parts
It's called "parting out". You buy something for £40, break it down into its component parts and then sell them individually, but at a price which makes the combined total of £100.
That way, the person selling the parts makes a profit, assuming they sell enough of the parts, and someone who only needs a couple of bits saves having to buy a whole new tank, or whatever.
Adrian.

They are also often customer returns that get broken up by the smaller retailers so they get some of their money back when they have to either refund or replace a faulty tank, they buy in bulk from the manufacturers and not all are fully working so they need to make something from the faulty ones.
