Hi All
I recently bought a Heng long tiger 1 on fleabay, with a asiatam metal hull, torsion bars and tracks and all works fine. The only issue i have that someone pointed out to me was that the ride height and rear idler looks to high ! Ive removed the rear panel & can see that there looks like some sort of adjustment for the rear idlers, but there are no screws or anything to adjust with. It looks like somethings missing. I can push it in with a screwdriver & the idler moves down and tightens the tracks a bit, but even if that was sorted it still looks like the wheels (that are still the plastic ones) still look to low, therefore leaving a bigish gap between the top of the track to the top of the chassis Hope you can see by the photo what i mean
Any advice would be great
Cheers
Mark

Re: HL TIGER 1 RIDE HEIGHT TO HIGH....WHY ????
It's hard to tell by the angle of the first photo, but it looks like the first roadwheels are the proper height but get progressively higher towards the idler. The idler itself seems in the correct position, just the roadwheel control arms are too far from the hull. The tracks should lay perpendicular to the ground after settling the second set of wheels after the drive sprocket.
I'm not familiar with the HL, the Tamiya has simple torsion bars to hold position, but something is out of whack there.
Looks more like an Elefant than a Tiger I.

There should be adjusting screws for the idlers on the underside at the rear, this is to adjust the track tension which it does by swinging the idler in an arc, it may be that it is set at the top of the arc at the moment and adjusting it will bring it back and down, to adjust the wheel suspension you either need more weight to bring the hull down on the suspension or try and twist the torsion bars a bit to adjust the ride height.
