Hi all i'm new to this forum.
I have an old porsche turreted Tamiya king tiger (56007). I have had this a while and have just got it back out of the loft, all works fine but I would like to know the best way to put a turret traverse system in it.
Is this possible still using the DMD-T01 control unit as I would like to keep the cost down.
Turret trevers gear?

Re: Turret trevers gear?
Hi joe505pir,
I have been waiting for someone with a Tamiya who knows about the DMD-T01 control unit.......but as no one has then I will tell you what I did. My tank just came as a rolling chassis with no electronics so I put a standard Heng Long RX 18 unit in it, and I used it to control the Tamiya turret traverse mechanism...but...I got sick and tired of the whole turret continually dropping out of its mounting gear and of the turret then falling off completely !
I removed the tamiya traverse and replaced it with a Heng Long traverse mechanism, this is a far superior system because the turret is held firmly to the hull deck by the rotation gear which is bolted to the bottom of the turret but INSIDE the hull . This is then effectively sandwiched between the turret bottom and the ring gear, with the result that the turret simply cannot now fall off and the rotation is very smooth and precise.
The Heng Long electronics is relatively speaking cheap and since I already have a couple of other Heng Long tanks it works very nicely because I then only have to change the crystals between the tanks.
