Which Tracks?

Post by supersaint »

Hi just after a few opinions on which tracks to buy for my Panzer 1V, I notice one supplier does Heng Long black tracks complete with drive wheels and Idlers for approx £40, then another supplier does some, quote better quality Heng Long/Tiagen tracks in Silver for approx £50, and then there is the much more expensive Asiatium tracks for about £80. Obviously the black ones are a great price but I wonder about the quality
And I am not that keen on the Colour!!. Also are Heng Long Tracks fully compatible with Asiatium drive wheels and idlers, and vice versa.
Hope this makes sense.

Cheers Colin.

Hi Colin,
Well you get what you pay for I have a set of the black mato tracks for my KV 1 which has a asiatam hull didnt like them and dont use them I have Taigen tracks on both my KT's dont mind them quiet a nice track for the money but the best tracks as far as I am concerned are Impact from Mitosal in singapore lot of guys run them in my club and they are very happy with them and they arent badly priced.
Hope this helps, Ken

I've got standrad HL silver ones on my Tiger with Asiatam drive, idle, road wheels and no complaints.

Also got standard HL silver tracks for my Asiatam KV1 and the tracks don't fit drive sprockets correctly so going to change to plastic tracks on it and see if that helps.

Hi Maxmekker,

My Tiger use to do that but turned out my drive shaft was bent so was doing an eliptical turn rather than circle.

This is my KV1 drive sprocket.

The track fits the teeth, but when running will ride up like that.

Not satisfied with some missing inaccuracies with the earlier released PzIV late tracks, IMPACT had issued another version of PzIV tracks
This is a full accurate replicate of the real tracks, with cast batch number on each links.
For Tankers that wanted nothing lesser in quality and reality

I prefer to get matched tracks and drive sprockets together if possible, that way you know there should not be any issues matching them up, also with the Panzer IV you need to decide which version you are modelling as later ones had different pattern sprockets and tracks if you are going for real accuracy.
