Where to wire that pesky battery?

Post by TankOCD »

Hey guys!
I've really been enjoying my new HL Kv1. It's falling apart, but I knew it would since it's cheap :haha:
Anyway, I wanted to put a Deans connector on my battery and ESC, but when I went to move the battery wire, the negative wire came off. Does anyone have a close up of the power switch and where to solder what wire? I just don't want to go to the wrong pole and mess something up. None of the diagrams I've found show the detail of the switch. Thanks!

On mine the negative cables are soldered to both pins at one end with a big blob of solder. Positive from battery to middle two pins again the two pins joined by big blob of solder. Finally positive from switch to electronics other end two pins again the pins joined by big blob of solder.

Technically the switch only switches the positive so you could just solder the two negative cables together.

Sorry no pictures at hand.

Heng Long do tend to do a crude job with big blobs of solder across both pins, I clean mine up to switch both positive and negative across the switch with battery to one end, live feed to board in the centre and a charging socket to the other end, that way when its switched off I can charge the battery.

OOPS - Jd is right I solder the battery to the centre connections just as the above diagram, I was replying from memory so mixed up my description. The diagram shows it very clearly, switch to the left tank is off but battery can be charged, switch to the right tank is on.
