The Asiatam Tiger 1 hulls which many of you are familiar with are now being marketed under the Taigen label. They now feature a new improved track tensioning system, a new quick release system and velcro battery strap. They are also now supplied unpainted, the plastic parts are mostly in a yellow colour.
Our new stock has just arrived and we are offering these at a special introductory price of only £48.99.
The photographs in our shop listing show the older version, we will have photos of the new version available in a few days.

Re: Special promotion - new Tiger 1 hulls
I got one of these last week (from another sell for more
) and got to say don't be put off by the Taigen it is the Asiatam everyone is use to with a few improvements.
The revised quick release catch is a massive improvement. So can remove the top with a finger with out getting it stuck between the track and hull.

Re: Special promotion - new Tiger 1 hulls
Is this hull waterproof? Can I use Mato road wheels on this hull?
Re: Special promotion - new Tiger 1 hulls
Hi Tisaksen,
No the hull is not waterproof, but you mount the electronics and battery on the supplied plastic base this sits 10-15mm above the inside hull base. So unless your totally reckless and drive into deep puddles or streams you should be ok. I’ve used mine on wet grass and stuff and mine was fine, just let it dry out with battery disconnected.
The plastic HL or Mato road wheels will not fit they require a 4mm shaft the Hull suspension arms need 3mm shaft. On mine I bought some 4mm brass tube from B&Q with an internal hole of 3mm I then used these as sleeves on the Asiatam 3mm axle bolts and fitted the road wheels. An alternative is putting some heat shrink over the 3mm axles but this isn’t as rigid which may cause tracks to come off on turns.
Hope that helps.
Ian.

Re: Special promotion - new Tiger 1 hulls
Thank you Tankbear this is good info. I have problems with throwing tracks and Im thinking a metal hull may fix the problem. If i decide to get one I will get some brass tube, great idea!
Re: Special promotion - new Tiger 1 hulls
I found main reason for tracks coming off is to much play in the road wheels or idle wheel. Manage to keep them more rigid and in line will help no end.
