stand off reinforcement collars
Fed up with your screw posts splitting ? afraid your stand offs will break ? - here's a little bodge for you . Get an old aerial , cut off the top button , and wallah ! Lots of tubing . Find one of the various sizes that will slip over the little darlings . Cut a bit off and CA into place . Simples .

Very good idea, tubing might work as well but it takes the spark to start the fire, simple yet smart, gotta love this.

Great idea. One could use brass tubing as well i suppose.
What I am doing is tapping out the standoffs with a 6-32 tap and then buying 1" 6-32 phillips flat head crown bolts. Tapping these out seem to keep them from splitting. Although I need to try it out on a new turret, but i am doing so on my turret that has some already split and they have not gotten worse, and the unsplit ones are hanging in there.
