It was a prototype that was used for training....the metal in the turret is not armor hardness...

You don't have to fit zimmerit if you don't want it on your model. Some purests will say its a must. But its your model,in your modeling world any thing goes.it's horrid and it scares me
The main thing is to enjoy the hobbie.Don't get hung up on i must have it as all the pic's i have seen have this fitted. Its yours, and yours had this fitted its a simply as that.

You would have thorght that as they all most all had zimmerit HL would have moulded it in ! Some times you have to wonder don't you.

Yup....no idea why they did not do it from the mold....I wanted to do the zimerit anyway. In some ways its easier than getting the correct rolled armor look with all the pitting and cracking. With the zimmerit, I just used green putty and a hacksaw blade. If I did not like my work, you just wipe it off and start over. For the roller armor look, I use a dremmel with a grinding stone set on slow....then I use some liquid glue and a brush....If you over do it, you have to sand the whole mess down and start over.
