Do any of you knowledgable fellas out there have any info ( or photographs.... pretty please) of towed fuel tanks for Panzer III/IV's specifically DAK panzer III's. I have seen just one photo of a P III towing a twin tanked trailer and thats about it. Just an idea for a project thats brewing......

That would make a nice project build.
But if you were going to using with a rolling tank i think you would have to make the chassis of of metal. As when the tank trys to reverse, a pastic chassis would soon be in kit form again.

Some great stuff there Oz, thanks. I know they were used in the vast expanse of the eastern front but I dunno how accurate it would be in the North african desert, never seen a piccy of a PIII in DAK colours towing one which is what I'm working on at the moment. Non of the books I have even mention them.
Re: Towed fuel carriers.
they were definitely used by the afrika korps in the desert campaign' i have some pics in by books so I'll try and dig one out for you.

Thanks mate, that would be a massive help.
Re: Towed fuel carriers.
sorry mate i can't find them, but one book states they were used and another states they weren't used! but i'll keep looking.
Re: Towed fuel carriers.
Cheers mate, your a diamond. I have several books on the DAK and there's no mention of them or any photo's, I just read one obscure reference to them somewhere. I may have to re adjust my thinking and do it for an eastern front Panzer IV.
