War Horse WW1 Tank

Post by magmer »

Bovington tank museum has acquired the WW1 Tank that makes an appearance in the film 'Warhorse' by Steven Spielberg. There is a 4min film on youtube about it. Its good to see Hollywood releasing a new film on this subject as it seems to be obsessed with sequels and prequels. Warhorse[/youtube]

Watched both Trailers and got a fair look at the tank,it is impressive. Spielberg and special effect go hand in hand,I'm sure the movie will have loads of good stuff and more tanks shown in the WWI setting than we have seen before.

That was the worst prop in the movie, they were so accurate on so much, but then even a guy like him with all his resources could not buy a working Tiger. I wonder if he approached Bovington about using 131?

Now that CGI is evident everywhere wouldn't it be great if some war films were redone. I am thinking of 'Battle of the Bulge', it had a great cast but lousey special effects and all the German armour consisted of M48s even as a 10 year old I knew this was wrong. Also it starts off in the snow and ends up for the final tank battle on what looks like the Prairies in Kansas ( not that i have been to Kansas Toto ). What films would you like to see?

Patton,Like you my sister invited me at 8 to see the movie,I just knew the battle scene in Italy was crap, their are so many good war movie s that could use a little modern remaking/ The Longest day, one that they need to leave alone is Sahara with Bogart and the fine LULABELLE
