First time I have posted something. But I thought it was fare that I did the same, as I have used many other peoples ideas they have posted. Just like to thanks everyone who have posted pictures of their builds. Keep up the good work. Here are a few pictures of my Jagdpanther that I have been building up. All the early bare chassis pictures have been lost due to camera malfunction. Hope you all like the work so far. This is only the 2nd tank I have done so far and still have along way to go yet.

Looks great. You going to hit it with any kind of wash?

Yes I will give it a wash, looks to new and clean also a bit fake at the moment. I was thinking of a simple buff wash over the top for dust with a deeper buff wash build up in the recesses. Also some thinned oil paint at points for the look of oil. Certain areas are still in need of paint chipping, with the hairspray technique ie. the exhausts, handles, hatches etc, etc..... But first I still have so sort out my electrics they keep giving me problems, they work then don't work.

Their are several post in Painting and Weathering on the washes and other paintwork. I have recently tried the Tamiya base Flat mixed with Johnsons floor polish as a sealer and a means to tone down the coloring to a nice Matte finish.

Most of my tanks have a factory fresh look,but they were new at one time and representing that is just one level of this hobby. New issue,training tanks,Battle field tanks,battle damaged tanks,their are many ways to model but really to me their is no right or wrong just perspective,and environment.

My First was a Tiger newly issued to Grossdeutschland,it looks new.One week after issue this same tank was in a battle,2 Tigers against 20 Russian T-34,it survived yet with Damage,same tank that within a few days looked totally different.

Your Jagdpanther looks great,and you have so much you can do,But as it is with just a spray of the Flat BASE.floor polish mix might be enough to change the look into a more military tone.

I don't ,or should say wouldn't use this method, as i like my airbrush too much. But if you have a cheap airbursh you hate go for it.

damn cant read the blog, but the way i was shown to use hairspray was to apply it to the model where you want wear, then spray your colours over it. when dry use a stiff brush and water to rub away the paint wher the wear would show and it exposes the under coat with the hairspray being water soluble. once you have it how you want it then simply seal it with a top coat. you can do this as many times as you want. i.e aply wear to a cammo coat, seal, and add winter cam also worn through. use a good quality hairspray though. i use treseme, it seems to work better.
