Should I resurrect a king ?
Re: Should I resurrect a king ?
The issue has to be cost, I sent you a Private message did you read this? Go to the top of the screen, left hand side above the advert banner and click private messages.
After reading the message we can then discuss options? It is a Tamiya King Tiger,it seems to be in fair shape, they are considered by many as the best. Certainly the tank can be made to function again. The question becomes money plain and simple.
Read the message,cheers Blake

I have not received a PM from you Scott, make sure the name is entered correctly. I have found some components for converting mechanical systems, electronics are the real cost.

Re: Should I resurrect a king ?
You could get Tamiya KT gearboxes from the AAF tank museum:

They also pop up on Ebay from time to time.
What part of central Ohio are you from? I'm Columbus born myself.

Re: Should I resurrect a king ?
I am south of columbus about 30 min. are the heng long gear boxes interchangable. or will would they require a lot of mods. I'm not bothered by minor things. if machine work is required.I dont have the stuff for that.
Re: Should I resurrect a king ?
I am pretty sure the gearbox mounting points are different and the gearbox shaft requires modification to fit the Tamiya sprocket.
