Tanks dressed up as other tanks

Post by Andy in Cheltenham »

After seeing the image of the M47 dressed up as a German tank for the Battle of the bulge film it got me thinking about what other tanks have been substituted by the wrong type.

Ice cold in Alex has Centurions with German markings
A bridge too far has a Leopard 1
Saving private Ryan has a T34 as a Tiger

Come on get your thinking caps on

I made a Kelly's heroes Tiger 1 using T34 running gear as the tigers in the film were T34's made to look like tigers here is the link to my Tiger.

The Big red One used a pershing for what was supposed to be a Tiger

The most laughable is certainly a T-34 dressed like a Tiger though

There was a film, based on the Sven Hassel books called "wheels of terror" had a T62 as a panther, then a SU for a jagd. ??? The T34/85s were real :O

I think, all this talk about tanks X dressing is just not natural. ;) You will be talking about their feeling & them having some odd op's next .
This poor Kt when it was born realy felt like a sherman under its armour  :haha: :haha:
