Panzer IV gun barrel
Hi Gents can anyone help me with getting a scale barrel for a Panzer IV BUT it must be a 75L48 version not the 75L43 one that can be bought as an upgrade. I need this for a special Panzer IV rebuild project. All the best for now

Tankzone have the barrel and muzzle brake: http://www.tankzone.co.uk/images/tam/p4/30408.jpg
I bought mine from Modellino, which comes with a replacement mantlet which replaces the horrible looking original HL part.
http://shop.ebay.de/merchant/modellino_ ... omZQQ_mdoZ
he doesn't have anything listed right now, just keep checking back every few days
Hope this helps,
Mart
rctank.de also has the barrel and muzzle brake

Re: Panzer IV gun barrel
Cheers guys I have already got an aluminium barrel of this size but it's an L43 ( shell size = 75mm x 43 = 3.225m divided by 16 =201mm scale length ) I need one that is L48 scale = 225mm or maybe L50 = 234mm. Looks like I will have to modifey the existing barrel by getting it turned down at the rear end and getting an extension made. ( bugger ). All the best for now

Re: Panzer IV gun barrel
Modellino's kit claimes to be an L48 - I also have his L43 for F2 & G models, and I seem to recall the one was longer than the other...?
I'll try to fish My PzIV out of storage later on today and measure it for you.
Cheers

Re: Panzer IV gun barrel
Cheers Pete it's an L48 fitted to the H version. I know I am safe with that. I may go with a non existant L50 gun as my model was only a " paper " tank so I feel safe exersising a bit of artistic licence. Please feel free to enter my poll on this tank as I would like your input on this model. All the best for now

Re: Panzer IV gun barrel
alright, my "L48" measures 20cm from the front face of the turret, so if we assume that the barrel length measurement includes what is also inside the turret I think its pretty close
Of course I have no idea which of the 10 boxes of parts I have here holds the L43, so I can't be sure that they don't just have a different muzzle brake on the same barrel...

Re: Panzer IV gun barrel
Hi ex pat Have just checked my Panzer IV barrel and from the front face of the turret its 16 cm without the muzzle break and 18cm with the muzzle break so it's as I thought an L43 gun ( Damm ) so I will have to modify the aluminium barrel a bit more to extend 2 cm further out and rig up an internal extension to fit a Asiatam recoil unit I am thinking of putting in. Thanks for the help and have a merry Christmas

Re: Panzer IV gun barrel
Peter has just listed another batch of parts on his ebay page - no PzIV barrels as yet, but maybe later in the week?
If I see one I'll PM you
