replaced smoker and ?

I have a HL smoke and sound tiger 1. The smoker unit didn't work from the beginning so I ordered a replacement, which only works when I give it a nudge with my finger. the smoker motor turns and pumps the piston and it smokes. However, as soon as I give the tank some throttle it stops turning until I give it another nudge with my finger. Isn't the smoke supposed to increase with tank speed? Tbh the Hl smoker is just rubbish..sorry but they are of a very poor quality.

To me that sounds like your RX18 board might be faulty in so much as not providing enough electricity to power the smoker. Hence need to assist it to start and why it stops when the main motors start. It is possible your original one overloaded the circuit board and caused the damaged. (I had same with the turret turn motor, burning out and breaking the RX18 board).

If you unplug the smoker and connect directly to the battery (polarity doesn't matter) and that runs fine I think that proves the above is the cause. If so and your ok with soldering you can connect directly to the power leads (after on/off switch) and if you pop the red switch in line you can turn on and off seperately as well.
